Easter 2016

Every year the story of His resurrection gets sweeter. When we gather on Sunday, March 27th for Easter services, I believe the power of God will convert the lost, shake the apathetic believer, and humble all those who seek Him.  This year our Easter theme is “He’s Resurrecting Me!”  This is not a self-centered focus, but a Biblical reality that: Because Christ is risen, so will we!(1 Corinthians 15).
Two opportunities will prepare your heart for Resurrection Sunday:
            1.  This Sunday (March 20) is Palm Sunday.  We will celebrate Jesus’ entrance into Jerusalem for what we refer to as Holy Week.  I am sharing a message called The Gate of the Lord from Psalm 118. I am excited about the music and message for this Sunday.
            2.  Good Friday Service is Friday, March 25 at 7pm.  This night of reflection and commemoration is one of the most meaningful gatherings we have each year.  Please make an effort to attend, as focusing on the cross will add depth to His resurrection story.
While we enjoy the American traditions around Easter, please do not let anything have a higher priority than your spiritual focus.  Let Holy Week be a time to deepen the work of Christ in you, and to invite someone else to this experience.  Remember, we exist to Know His Love, Share His Love. I am honored to share these experiences with you.
I love being your pastor,

Something Important

Stop.  Take another look at the title of the CILWomen spring retreat:  every heart matters. It matters that your heart is cared for, that it’s connected to others, that the broken places are acknowledged and healed.  Most importantly, it matters that your heart is made whole in Jesus Christ.

CILWomen will spend Friday night, April 15th, and Saturday morning on the 16th engaged in a little heart care.  That happens as we share our stories, have time to talk and laugh, and experience the love of Jesus.  We’ll discover how to quiet our hearts to be still, to hear His voice, and how to make that a daily experience in our journey through life. Your journey, like mine, has probably taken turns and detours you never imagined would happen.  Those things can bang up your heart.  So make the space in your life for heart care.  Because your heart matters.

The retreat location is the Scarritt-Bennett Center in Nashville.  It’s a beautiful place. Each lady will have a private room with a shared bathroom.  Our time together includes dinner Friday night and breakfast Saturday morning.

The cost is $90, with a $50 deposit due with your registration by March 10th. Registration is online. The balance is due by April 10th (or you can pay in full when you register). There are scholarships available, so please don’t let the cost keep you away.

This is not a closed retreat – we welcome you to bring friends, sisters, moms.

Please contact the office (615.826.6222) if you have any questions.  I’m leaving the country today and will be out until March 15th, but Pastor Aaron or Carrie Crow can help you.

You are loved, my friend.

Souper Bowl of Caring

Souper Bowl of Caring is this Sunday. Many local churches will take an offering for direct benefit of the Hendersonville Samaritan Association. HSA uses this offering to help fund food bank needs (specifically Care Packs for kids in our local elementary schools) in our city. This year HSA is providing174 packs every Friday. This is a cost of over $17,000 annually. The Souper Bowl offering has helped provide this critical need the last couple of years as it will this year. We invite you to give with us.
You can give during either the 9:00am or 10:45am services or online, by clicking here.
