CIL Update, August 26, 2015

There are a lot of things competing for a congregation’s attention, but the healthiest churches are relentlessly dedicated to three or four things.  The simpler, the better.  Those three or four things may be different for each church, but the power of focus on these defined areas creates congregational health.
At CIL, we focus on…

Next Generation
– Kids and teenagers receive our focus!
Small Groups

– People will stay a month for a great service, a year for a great program, but a lifetime for a friend.  Relationships are irreplaceable. As a church gets bigger, it must get smaller though smaller groups. Our 2:42 Groups and Men’s/Women’s Groups are a key to our identity.
Assimilation
Assimilation is moving people from only attending on Sunday morning to participation in the church family.  CIL Forward is the process that starts assimilation, but long-term individual participation is the goal of this process.
Missions
Jesus to told us to, “Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations (Mt. 28:19).”  We start in Sumner County, but go anywhere the Spirit leads us to.
As our church develops, I just want to remind you of these important strategies that will remain our focus until God communicates something different.
I love being your pastor!   Have a great week in Jesus!
