20 May The Allison Team in Ministry
For those of you who follow Beth and me on social media, you may have noticed that this is a monumental month for our family. My oldest daughter Abbey graduated from Lee University two weeks ago, and our youngest son Lincoln graduates from Beech High School tomorrow. Our middle child Luke continues to thrive at Western Kentucky University, but we are glad to have him home for a couple of months this summer. We are proud of all three kids, but there is a lot of movement as we launch them into adulthood.
That’s our life right now, but we recognize yours is likely just as complex. The month of May brings great weather and the promise of summer, but this month has become a complex time to juggle many cultural occurrences. Yet, two years ago, the world was shut down during May, so this activity is a welcomed sign of life. I hope you find CIL Church a respite to take a breath and connect with the presence of God during this active time.
After a couple of Sundays off preaching, I am enthusiastic about sharing God’s Word with you this week. My message from John 5:1-9 is titled “The Desire for Wholeness.” Abbey Allison, who I mentioned earlier in this email, will lead us in worship.
