I invite you to pray for the CIL Kids, as they will leave Friday afternoon for Camp Blast! This weekend camp is an integral part of our church’s culture, so keep Faith, the staff, and the kids in your prayers. This Sunday is Pentecost Sunday, and I look forward to speaking on Romans 8:14-17 in a message titled, “The Spirit and Kinship.”  You will learn about the Holy Spirit and how He impacts your life. Aubrey McGowan will lead us in Spirit-filled worship, and we have a special ministry partner from overseas who will give us a ministry update. I am happy to announce that we have launched CIL Forward online! CIL Forward is our form of a “membership class” that allows people to investigate or take a step with the CIL Church family. So, if you are new, need a refresher, or are simply curious – click below, register for the course,...

It's Memorial Day weekend, and I am so thankful for the men and women who have sacrificed their lives in military service to establish America. Pray for the surviving family members of these fallen soldiers. It's Family Sunday, so our elementary and middle school students will worship with us in the sanctuary. After a couple of weeks away, Aubrey McGowan will lead us in worship, and he will be joined by Faith Hannula, our children's pastor. Faith is an experienced, effective worship leader, so you will enjoy discovering her musical gift. I look forward to preaching and sharing another resurrection message! Jesus is alive, and we'll keep spreading that story! I keep thinking a lot about the massacre in Uvalde, Texas. There are no helpful words to add to the collection of laments. This tragedy does remind me that the work we do at CIL Church matters, and we'll keep developing souls. With love for all,             Register for Venture...

My oldest daughter Abbey graduated from Lee University two weeks ago, and our youngest son Lincoln graduates from Beech High School tomorrow. Our middle child Luke continues to thrive at Western Kentucky University, but we are glad to have him home for a couple of months this summer. We are proud of all three kids, but there is a lot of movement as we launch them into adulthood. That’s our life right now, but we recognize yours is likely just as complex. The month of May brings great weather and the promise of summer, but this month has become a complex time to juggle many cultural occurrences. Yet, two years ago, the world was shut down during May, so this activity is a welcomed sign of...
