One of the most daunting, and sobering, aspects of parenthood is being responsible for the spiritual development of this little person you’ve brought into the world. It’s no surprise that adults who were perhaps sporadic in attending to matters of faith decide that being involved in a community of faith is an important part of life when children are born.
At CIL we are committed to being a resource and a partner for parents as they determine how best to guide their children’s spiritual development. We can’t take your place, but we count it a privilege to walk with you.
AWANA is a primary component in that partnership. This Wednesday night program presents the gospel in every lesson, helps kids learn scripture, gives them a chance to serve others and offers them encouragement and mentoring from adult volunteers.
David, in one of his psalms, wrote, “I have hidden your Word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.” The words of God, planted and nourished deep in our hearts, affect the way we see the world, the way we evaluate situations, and the way we make choices. Isn’t that what we most desire for our children?
AWANA enrollment for children ages 3 through 5th grade is this Sunday morning (August 10th). The fall semester begins Wednesday, August 13th. Classes meet from 6:00 until 7:30. We’d love for your children to be part of what God is doing in the hearts of our kids.
