Holiday Traditions at CIL

Thanksgiving Blessing is almost here!

Our Thanksgiving Blessing outreach will occur Saturday, November 23.  Preparation for that day occurs the night before (November 22).

If you want to give financially to this project, click here. We have already sponsored 150 of the 185 baskets. Will you help us finish the funding for this expression of love? For $25, you can sponsor an entire meal for a family in need.

Anything over our budget will be returned to the community through future outreaches and benevolence.

If you want to volunteer, we are asking that you register at cil.churchcenter.com. Gala Johnson is in charge of this outreach, and by registering, she can prepare for your volunteer time.

The Longest Night Service

To acknowledge those we have lost to death and other painful experiences in the last year, Pastor Deborah will lead us in the Longest Night service on Tuesday, December 10, at 6:30 pm. This time of consolation is an important spiritual practice during a time that may emphasize joy at the expense of legitimate feelings of sorrow.  Come to a safe environment to mourn in the presence of God.

Christmas Eve Services

December 23 at 6:30pm
December 24 at 2pm and 3:30pm

Advent prepares us for the Christmas season, which begins on Christmas Eve.

CIL’s Christmas Eve service is a way to center on Jesus during an active holiday. It such a great experience to sing carols, hear Scripture and partake of communion as a church family.

So you can plan to attend; we want you to be aware of our schedule. Worship services for Christmas Eve will be on December 23 at 6:30pm, and on December 24 at 2 pm and 3:30 pm. These early options give you plenty of time to prioritize worship, then enjoy other traditions that evening.

We have some incredible weeks ahead of us to enjoy Christ, His people, and the ones we love.
