Barbara O’Guin Obituary

Barbara Larenté O’Guin passed of covid-related complications on the morning of August 12th, 2021; she was 76 years old. Her final moments were spent at Vanderbilt Medical Center, surrounded by loved ones. She is survived by daughter Denise O’Guin Gerkey, grandson Stephen Gerkey, granddaughter Brittany Gerkey Yarbrough (Benjamin Yarbrough II), great-granddaughters Olivia and Leigha Gerkey, mother Audrey Larenté, brother Dennis Larenté, sister-in-law Shawnnie Larenté, multiple nieces and nephews, and her beloved dog, Ginger (Bops).

Barbara was born on December 2nd, 1944 in Detroit, Michigan. She raised two children (Ronald Joseph and Denise Marie) alongside her late-husband, Joseph. Majority of her life was spent working as a medical transcriptionist and unit secretary. Barbara enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and friends, reading, eating Mexican food, traveling, dancing, and painting.
