27 Jul The Challenges and Opportunities of Early Success
This Sunday we will be in Judges 15, and we continue our Scripture-centered series FIFTEEN, with a teaching titled “The Challenges and Opportunities of Early Success.” By looking at an early part of Samson’s life, we will gain insights on our own.

Bible Studies Starting Soon
How does God use the Scripture in readying the church to fulfill her calling? How are we to read the Scripture so that we are drawn along by the Spirit into Christlikeness?
Those are important questions, worthy of consideration; at CIL we believe that studying together offers an important way to engage with scripture, to grapple with questions, to learn from others. CIL offers a number of Bible study and focus study groups that will begin meeting in August. Groups for women, groups for men, and groups open to all are ways to be more deeply formed by God’s Word, to discover the answers to the questions asked above. We also offer classes that resource other materials to gain insight into living faithfully as followers of Christ.
Veritas Module 1 is a foundational course at CIL and will begin on Monday, August 14th. There’s a morning class from 10am-Noon and an evening class 6pm-8pm. You’ll learn skills of Bible study and engage in discussion about key passages from letters Paul wrote to believers in the early church. Veritas is the first step into Three Streams School of Theology, but is also a stand-alone course offered to all. Tuition for each Veritas class is $50. Pastor Deborah will lead this class.
CILMen meet every Sunday morning at 8am in the Living Room for Bible study. Fatherhood Focus Study Group will meet Tuesday mornings at 7am beginning August 8th and Christian Classics Focus Study Group, which will read Eugene Peterson’s A Long Obedience in the Same Direction, starts Wednesday, Sept. 13th at 7am. Pastor Jacob can answer any questions you have about these groups.
CILWomen will resume a Tuesday morning study on August 8th at 9:30am using Elijah by Priscilla Shirer. A Thursday evening study of the Book of Acts starts on August 17th at 6:30pm. Pastor Deborah can answer questions about these groups.
