 Summer is in full swing, and we have great things at CIL Church!We have been intentionally building our men and family ministries in recent months. Those initiatives culminate in the coming days with two significant events – the Sumner Summit for Men and the Venture family conference. If you are in town, please make these a priority.There was such a strong anointing during our services last Sunday, and I am thankful. Your passion for God’s presence makes a difference in our Sunday service. I will preach Sunday, and Josh Johnson will lead our worship music. The summer is a great time to grow our spiritual family because many people move to north Nashville in these months. Let’s grow our family!  I invite you to pray for the CIL Kids, as they will leave Friday afternoon for Camp Blast! This weekend camp is an integral part of our church’s culture, so keep Faith, the staff, and the kids in your prayers.This Sunday is Pentecost Sunday, and I look forward to speaking on Romans 8:14-17 in a message titled, “The Spirit and Kinship.”  You will learn about the Holy Spirit and how He impacts your life.  It's Memorial Day weekend, and I am so thankful for the men and women who have sacrificed their lives in military service to establish America. Pray for the surviving family members of these fallen soldiers.It's Family Sunday, so our elementary and middle school students will worship with us in the sanctuary. After a couple of weeks away, Aubrey McGowan will lead us in worship, and he will be joined by Faith Hannula, our children's pastor. Faith is an experienced, effective worship leader, so you will enjoy discovering her musical gift.I look forward to preaching and sharing another resurrection message! Jesus is alive, and we'll keep spreading that story!I keep thinking a lot about the massacre in Uvalde, Texas. There are no helpful words to add to the collection of laments.
