David Harold Gerkey passed of covid-related complications on the morning of August 2nd, 2021 in Nashville, TN; he celebrated his 55th birthday the week prior. He spent his final moments at Vanderbilt Medical Center, surrounded by his immediate family and closest friends. He is survived by his partner of 32 years, Denise O’Guin Gerkey, son Stephen Gerkey, daughter Brittany Gerkey Yarbrough (Benjamin Yarbrough II), granddaughters Olivia and Leigha Gerkey, and his beloved dog, Adelaide (Addie bug).Born on July 25th, 1966 in Mesquite, Texas. David was a country boy at heart, yet he visited every continent the world has to offer, during his 20 years in the Navy. David held three degrees: an Associate’s of Arts, a Bachelor’s of Science (in Business Administration), and a Master’s of Science (in Organizational Leadership). Barbara Larenté O’Guin passed of covid-related complications on the morning of August 12th, 2021; she was 76 years old. Her final moments were spent at Vanderbilt Medical Center, surrounded by loved ones. She is survived by daughter Denise O’Guin Gerkey, grandson Stephen Gerkey, granddaughter Brittany Gerkey Yarbrough (Benjamin Yarbrough II), great-granddaughters Olivia and Leigha Gerkey, mother Audrey Larenté, brother Dennis Larenté, sister-in-law Shawnnie Larenté, multiple nieces and nephews, and her beloved dog, Ginger (Bops).Barbara was born on December 2nd, 1944 in Detroit, Michigan. She raised two children (Ronald Joseph and Denise Marie) alongside her late-husband, Joseph. Majority of her life was spent working as a medical transcriptionist and unit secretary. Barbara enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and friends, reading, eating Mexican food, traveling, dancing, and painting.
