Hello, CIL family! This year is the most unusual start to a school year since 2012, when schools did not start for a few weeks in Sumner County due to budget issues.  That was a frustrating time for our community, but we got through it.Next week we face uncertainty as public schools reopen in a way in which we did not anticipate.  This unfamiliar way to proceed is not just in the schools as the pandemic impacts all of society. Everything has changed in 2020, so we need our faith more than ever before.  Our current instability makes connecting with Jesus indispensable.  Jesus is a sure and unwavering source of stability. This Sunday, we will have a Back-to-School prayer for all students during our 9 AM and 10:45 AM services.  You can join us in-person or online.   I will be preaching part 3 on my sermon series called The Person of the Holy Spirit.   Josh Johnson and Abbey Allison...

We have to accept these are not ordinary times, so we will continue to adjust along the way as individuals and a congregation. We have suspended our Thursday service until more people attend in-person services again. If all goes as hoped, Awana will start on Wednesday, August 26. We are targeting Sunday, September 13, as the beginning of 242 Childcare and 242 Students.Every day new information gives new considerations. Let's be patient with the various responses to the global pandemic, giving people the space to experiment with their response, and grace when they change their opinion. If you are mitigating, send me a quick hello by email so we can keep in touch. With love and appreciation,I Wish I Understood More About ScriptureI’ve said it.  I’m confident I’ll say it again in the future.  What I have discovered, though, is that we can each learn how to read scripture to understand it, to let it...
