We are having such a great VBS!   We are so thankful for Pastor Chip and his team. Tonight, the Frontline Student Ministries leaves at 11pm for beach camp. What an exciting week! Thank you for your generosity that makes all this ministry possible. Here are four important things happening the next few days through CIL: 1. Take 2 Day trip  A group of fun adults approximately age 55 and over, love to get together for friendship and fun. The group will be taking a trip to downtown Franklin on Friday, June 15, for lunch and shopping! The group will meet at the church at 10:00 am and should return around 3:00. If you need more details, or need to sign up, contact Shelby Cavender at 214-616-5265. 2. Parent's Night Out. PNO is Friday, June 15, from 6-10pm. This night of childcare for babies through 5th grade is available for a small fee for those who make reservations. Our church has a great tradition of Vacation Bible School (VBS) for which we are thankful. However, with our success in the past, let's not take VBS for granted. Here are reasons I believe in VBS, and why I hope our church continues to support VBS through a high attendance of children.   1. Kids get saved! Every year children publicly decide to become a Christian during VBS. We often discover these stories of change in subsequent months, letting us know that these are not emotional reactions, but true moments of conversion. 2. Catechism occurs. "Catechism" is a traditional term for a systematic presentation of Christian principals (often through questions and answers). VBS presents the gospel and ask questions in different ways throughout VBS, which is part of a child's faith development. Plus, it's fun! VBS is part of our strategy to develop the next generation's faith. 3. Volunteers are established.   VBS grows our "worship one, serve one" volunteer emphasis.   Many...
